I did a ton of drawing and calligraphy this winter and created a really special Deluxe Album Book/CD version of Love Without Fear. The hardcover book includes 24 notebook pages with my illustrations and hand-written lyrics for all of the songs on the album. You may have heard the first single “Disappearing,” which I released this past fall.  Now it’s time now to let you in on the rest of the music.

Love Without Fear is an album about feeling alone, about desperately wishing for connection and togetherness, and about finding those things and what that means.  The sound of the record lives at the intersection of Americana and Beatles-influenced rock and roll; it’s got a little bit of twang and a lot of cinematic emotion. I had a lot of fun taking a break from co-writing to write and record my own solo music for a change, and I’m excited to get it into your hands and headphones.

I recorded the album in Minneapolis and Los Angeles and I was fortunate enough to have some of my amazing musician friends contribute their talents to it, like Blake Mills and Sean Watkins on guitar as well as Sara Bareilles, Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks), Missy Higgins, Lissie and Sara Watkins helping out on vocals.
