More calligraphy – this is Taylor Swift’s great first line for her & my song “Treacherous.”
Lyric Video for Birdy’s “All You Never Say”
British singer/pianist (and now guitarist) Birdy and I wrote a batch of songs together for her upcoming album, including this one, “All You Never Say.” I love her voice and her ideas and you’ll see why when you listen to this track. The album is jam-packed with great songs, by the way.
Acoustic Music Calligraphy
While we’re waiting for the songs to be mixed, here’s the bit of calligraphy I did leading up to a session of acoustic music last week: Sean Watkins, Brad Gordon, Aaron Redfield, Yazz Fulton and me. I’ll share one of the songs we did in an upcoming installment of “Songs From the Ballroom.”
“Two”
Another song title from my in-progress album: “Two.” Turns out calligraphy is no substitute for meditation, but it’s relaxing and interesting in its own way. Moving beyond blatant copping of Seb Lester’s style to an adaptation of my own.
At Al Shux’s Place
At Al Shux’s place, working on a new song. Singer/songwriter Romeo Testa doing something important on his iPad or iPhone; producer Al Shux creating beats or possibly some really ominous-sounding trombones. I am contributing by sketching pictures of them.
